JEUVEAU

Jeuveau is a relatively new botulinum toxin, just like Botox. It has been developed as an alternative to Botox but at a more affordable rate. While Botox is quite famous among people as a cosmetic injection for facial wrinkles, there are other neuromodulator brands out there, including Jeuveau, which promises the same results.

THE NEW NUEROMODULATOR ON THE BLOCK

Patients often use the term “Botox” interchangeably with all wrinkle relaxers that treat dynamic wrinkles. However, Botox is only one of several neuromodulator injections that are FDA-approved for wrinkle correction. Jeuveau is a newer neuromodulator injection that has similar properties as Botox and is also effective in suppressing unwanted facial wrinkles. It is also more affordable than Botox injections.

WHAT IS JEUVEAU?

Jeuveau is a cosmetic injection that targets moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, commonly referred to as angry 11s or glabellar lines. It is FDA-approved for frown line correction, but it is also used off-label to treat forehead lines, crow’s feet, perioral lines around the mouth, and other facial areas. The injections work quickly, with results noticeable within a few days, and last for several months.

JEUVEAU TREATS:

  • Forehead lines extending horizontally
  • Lines between the eyebrows known as glabellar lines
  • Wrinkles at the outer corners of the eyes, commonly referred to as crow’s feet
  • Lines appearing around the bridge of the nose, often called bunny lines
  • Wrinkles around the lips, commonly known as smoker’s lines
  • Creases on the chin, also referred to as a cobblestone chin
  • Visible bands on the neck

BENEFITS OF JEUVEAU:

  • Treatment with minimal invasiveness
  • Involves only a few simple injections
  • Minimal discomfort experienced during the treatment
  • No harsh side effects or complications
  • Targets the underlying cause of wrinkles
  • Helps prevent the development of new facial wrinkles
  • Requires no downtime after the treatment

HOW JEUVEAU WORKS

Jeuveau is a product that contains a neurotoxin protein that can temporarily block the passage of signals from nerve endings to muscles. The reason for dynamic wrinkles is due to overuse of certain facial muscles from years of making particular facial expressions such as frowning or laughing. Jeuveau temporarily paralyzes the muscles responsible for creating the unwanted expression lines, this temporarily smoothening the skin and reversing the signs of aging.

JEUVEAU FAQS

Both Jeuveau and Botox contain botulinum toxin type A, which effectively reduces facial wrinkles when injected in the targeted facial muscles. Minor differences in their formula may make one better suited for some patients. Additionally, Jeuveau is a new botulinum injection that is available at a lower cost.

The results of Jeuveau last for 3 to 4 months and you will require further treatments afterwards.

Patients usually require 3 to 4 Jeuveau sessions annually to maintain their youthful skin throughout the year.

"We will begin your Jeuveau treatment by cleansing your facial skin and applying a numbing gel. Then, we will mark the injection points and proceed to inject Jeuveau into those areas using ultrafine needles. The whole process will be completed within 30 minutes."

Jeuveau has minimal side effects, including redness, swelling, tenderness, numbness, and bruising around injection points. These side effects typically disappear within a few days.

Jeuveau does not require downtime. You can resume your daily activities and work immediately after your treatment. However, we recommend avoiding high-intensity workouts for a day to ensure best results.

You should expect to see some mild improvements in a matter of days, and these improvements will continue for up to two weeks.
